A friend wanted a birthday portrait painted, and the artist visited their home, got to know them a bit and discussed interpretive themes. This reminded me of an interior designer who told me about a similar process in their work. I thought this to be a fascinating process, and a proceeded to compose a musical portrait weaving interpretive themes and biographical sounds related to their story. The resulting Personal Musical Portrait may be related to in many different ways.
